Learn the reason we lie, and if you keep the actions of the characters in mind, you may just be able to change yours and other’s fates. The story could be absolutely disgusting in both the acts and the exploration of human nature. Others have stated that Kultgen is perpetuating negative college stereotypes, but the reality is His best friend, the secondary character is still relatable in his drastic love for a girl who really means nothing except the idea he had for her, and deep down inside he knew it yet she still drives him to his demise.

I gave this book 4 stars out of 5 — not because it is a good book, or even well-written. I think he definitely hates women for some reason. Liar is also about a woman in her 30s, which could almost be the girl in The Lie, getting nastier after a bit of life experience.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. I found a lot of the sex in this book to be emotionally accurate, and at some points mind numbing. Apr 20, Andrew rated it really liked it. This book is so darkly humorous and so insanely fucked up that it was hard to put down.

He spends the entire story finding new and exciting ways to demoralize and dehumanize thf, whom he only kultgeen to as whores. I kind of figured that the sexual commentary would go away after a while, like when an author describes a character as having blonde hair, and then doesn’t mention it again.

Kultgen never loses your attention with the plot, and he ensures the novel is believable although you won’t believe it. I make jokes about having sex with my dead grandfather like it’s no one’s business, so Kultgen’s vulgar depictions of chav are just that. After taking a break, I spent another 5 hours or so finishing the book.

Really breaking new ground there, pal. No trivia or quizzes yet. This is a book that had me so disgusted at so many points.

It took a long time to get to the point, and I suppose the backstory was necessary to give the ending I kultben like this as much as The Average American Male. With that said, I hated these characters.

At times it reminded me of “The Rules of Attraction” with the way it depicts the debauchery of college in larger then life form, and but while Bret Easton Ellis prefers to demonstrate the way senseless sex and mindless drug use numb us to the pain of others, Kultgen zeros in on that pain in order to se Hoo boy, trust me, your ears will be ringing after you finish this.

Thanks for signing up! The fuck was the whole point, if the character revelation we’d been waiting for for pages just gets reversed offhandedly twelve pages later.

So, yes, I think there is a strong sense of entitlement there and these kids are coming into a world, or a country at least that is seriously in the crapper with specific regard to financial stability.

And with your antihero Brett, you deliver a character that would make Bret Easton Ellis blush. If you are located outside the U. Kyle loves Heather and would do anything for her. Even though he finds a new girlfriend that is similar to him and treats him well, when Heather wants him back he has no hesitation to have her back in his life.
