Arvind started with the intention of writing a research paper but when he found that it has become too voluminous, he converted it into a book. If you want to understand the true magnitude of the shift in economic power that is currently changing the world, Eclipse is the book to read—provocative, well argued and elegantly written.

His examination makes use of real-world examples, comparing China’s rise with the past hegemonies of Great Britain and the United States. I think perhaps an effort was made to make it accessible to a wide audience, but it was too complicated for me.
